Endoscopy

Endoscopy procedure is minimally invasive and is used to assess the condition of inner body surfaces/parts by using an Endoscope. This procedure is used not only for diagnosis but also treatment e.g. G.I. Bleeding, Removal of Polyps (benign tumour), removal of biliary stones, dilatation of blocked gastorintestinal passages, placement of stents and feeding tubes, removal of swallowed foreign bodies (common in children) etc

 

SERVICES

The Endoscopy Department boasts of state of the art videoendoscopes, including gastroscopes, colonoscopes, ERCP scopes, Enteroscope. The department also has an Endoscopic Ultrasound capability, which makes Saifee Hospital one of the few centres in India to possess it. These are used not only for diagnosis but for treatment also. This obviates the need for standard surgery and prevents scars and shortens hospital stay. Endoscopy service is available not only during routine hours but also as an emergency service round-the-clock.
