BIOCHEMISTRY SECTION

Routine biochemical tests are handled in this section. Kone Lab Analyser can handle 90 specimen in one cycle and upto 300 tests per hour to provide the results.

IMMUNOLOGY

Covers blood test such as hormones, drug levels, vitamins and trace elements and special tests related to auto-immunology.

 

 

 

MICROBIOLOGY SECTION

Covers diagnostic testing for infectious agents such as bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi etc. Tests for antibiotic susceptibility which can serve as a guideline to patient's therapeutic management. Also performs regular surveillance for environment.

HISTOPATHOLOGY SECTION

Covers  histopathology  of all  tissues ( biopsies and dissected specimens )

Cytopathology covering vaginal and cervical cytology, fluid cytology and Fine needle aspiration cytology; Brush smears, Frozen section urgent intra-operative diagnosis; Brain tumour analysis; Bone marrow biopsies; special staining procedures; immuno histochemistry and outside slide reviews.

 

 

HAEMATOLOGY SECTION

Deals with the tests and counts related to blood and its cells e.g. red cells, white cells and platelets and various tests related to cogulation and bleeding.

Covers blood grouping and transfusion services, maintaining stock of blood and its components, preparation of components and maintainingtheir stock for the patients of Saifee Hospital as well as other hospitals.
