About Hematology Department
Saifee Hospital provides state of art diagnostic and treatment facilities for patients suffering from various haematological and haemato oncological problems in adults and children. The Hospital has Department of Laboratory Medicine equipped with the latest technology required for diagnosis of blood diseases. The blood transfusion department of the Hospital can provide high quality blood and blood components such as :
  • Red blood cell concentrate
  • Platelet concentrate (random donor as well as single donor)
  • Cryoprecipitate
  • Fresh frozen plasma
  • which are commonly required for patients suffering from blood diseases.
The team consisting of expert and experienced consultants, nurses, resident medical officers, dieticians and counsellors is available to ensure patient friendly services.
About Laboratory Medicine & Pathology
Dr. Rupa Jain is Head of Laboratory Medicine for Saifee Hospital for the last 15 years. Laboratory has received NABL accreditation in 2011. Initiated extensive internal and external quality programs for better patient care. The Laboratory has compliance to ISO 15189:2012 standards.

Histopathology department processes the sample for tissue / fluid analysis. We provide the final diagnosis which helps the Consultant to define an effective treatment plan for the patient. We cater to a varied workload of benign as well as oncology samples, which include biopsies, radical resections, cytoreductive surgery specimens, fluid and exfoliative cytology and FNACs. Intraoperative consultation (frozen section) is provided to give on site primary diagnosis. The department is well equiped with latest technology such as wax dispensors, automatic tissue processors, autostainers, liquid based cytology, immunofluorescence, cryostat and immunohistochemistry. We stain samples for 130 immunohistochemistry antibodies.
